World War 1 Bases

Just over 100 years ago the United States got involved in World War One and built up a rather large amount of domestic bases.
This blog will document all of the known stateside bases on an ongoing basis. The foundations are set in place and furnishings will be added on a regular basis. Check back often for updates. email info: basesofwar (at) gmail (dot) com.

About Me

My photo
Bases of War
I ended up becoming interested in domestic military base history because it seems like I was always ending up at some place (in CA) that had a previous history to it. I went to jr. college at what was the Santa Ana Army Air Base, now Orange Coast College. I spent a year at Long Beach State which is adjacent to a former WWII Naval Hospital which is now a V.A. center. Then I transferred to the former Goleta Marine Corps Air Station or UC Santa Barbara. Finally, I did some postgraduate coursework at the former Fort Ord or CSU Monterey Bay. Please feel free to email me any attachments or worthwhile info to share.
