Camp Johnston was a training base for quartermaster officers. It started out as a training base for the Florida National Guard. But the land was turned over to the U.S. Government for WWI. It was closed in 1919. Today, there is military activity; but of a much different nature. It is now Jacksonville Naval Air Station.

Carlstrom Field
There was a maximum capacity for 400 cadets who were trained in pursuit flying.
Carlstrom did see reuse during WWII. Today there is no aviation activity.
Dorr Field
Dorr Field had a capacity for 120 cadets. It served as an auxiliary sub-field for Carlstrom. It was an aerial gunner school. It did see reuse during WWII. Afterwards, it was converted to a correctional facility and has no aviation reuse.
Heistand Field
It has been very difficult to find any old photos or maps of Heistand and Valentime. It served as a subfield for Dorr. Where abouts of field unknown.
Valentine Field (LaBelle)
It served as a subfield for Carlstron. Apparently, there is still aviation activity today if LaBelle Airport is the actual site.
