Colorado (Updated 09/25/18)

Denver Area:
General Hospital No. 21
(Updated 09/25/18)

Circa 1927.

Early photo of Fitzsimons.
Fitzsimons Hospital had a long rich history. It was used by the Army during WWII and lasted until it appeared on 1995 base closure list. Former President Dwight D. Eisenhower spent his last days at Fitzsimons. I was fortunate to visit in 2004 and saw much of it intact, before the University of Colorado Denver took a wrecking ball to much of it.  That campus serves primarily as a medical campus. I have a feeling if this was instead serving the flagship in Boulder, much of Fitzsimons would have been preserved.
