(updated 10/13/18)
Camp Greene was one of 16 National Guard camps. It was named after Revolutionary War hero Nathaniel Greene. Believe it or not, at the time of WWI, Charlotte had a mere 20,000 people, in contrast to Camp Greene with about 40,000 troops and support staff combined. Today, Charlotte is North Carolina's largest city! Camp Greene was a short lived and saw no WWII reuse.
Camp Bragg
Camp Bragg was originated in September 1918, just two months before Armistice. However, unlike most projects that were abruptly abandoned, it was continued. Today it is a rather large army base called Fort Bragg.
